Zion Episcopal Church welcomes you, wherever you are on your spiritual journey. We are here to foster a community of joyfully seeking, growing, and sharing Christians. We accept absolutely everyone. Even if you are just curious and have barely begun your journey, you will feel comfortable in our church community.
Join our worship on Sundays at either 8 am in the chapel (not during the summer) or at 10 am in the sanctuary with the choir and organ. (During the winter months we worship in the parish hall in order to conserve on heating expenses.) Use this worship time to slow down, reflect, and communicate with your spiritual side. Pastor Susan Kohlmeier shares down-to-earth, practical sermons and our choir and organist provide outstanding music. After the 10 AM service stay for coffee and fellowship -- mingle, ask questions, and help us get to know you.
We have a vital youth program at Zion, with children from ages 4 to 18. Our Sunday youth program has dedicated church members teaching classes and leading engaging activities related to the curriculum. Many of the youth participate regularly in Sunday worship as acolytes and, one week each month, the youth serve as readers, greeters, and Eucharistic ministers. During this youth-led service the congregation looks forward to the performance of the youth choir.
Zion is actively involved in the Palmyra community. Headstart and the local food pantry are housed in our facilities. Members of our congregation help staff the food pantry and the local clothing closet. AA and NA meetings are held weekly in our parish hall. The last Sunday of each month we prepare a free dinner for the community and every Thanksgiving day we put on a free, homemade turkey dinner with all the fixings.
Join us in worship and participate in some of our mission projects; you will quickly become a part of our vital church community.
